fortunatly the amount of vertexs on the head was equal to that of the ear so was a case of using the snap tool to move the points next to each other ready for attaching.
i then had to bridge the gap infont of the ear to the head.
i made a few final touches to help maintain the shape of the ear once smoothed.
i then attached the ear to the head.
i had to alter a couple of the points possitions but it looks good.
